Cambodian Artisanal Development

Image
Many people's working lives have been altered as a result of the global pandemic, including those in Cambodia. As a responsible corporate citizen, Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group established the Prince Horology Vocational Training Center, Cambodia's first independent watch school. The training centre provides Cambodians with the opportunity to learn a new artisanal skill – watchmaking – and gain the experience needed to compete in job markets in Cambodia and abroad. The training centre adheres to the strict watchmaking regulations outlined by Swiss regulatory bodies. Cambodia, as a country steeped in history, has long preserved artisanal skills for generations, with the Kingdom well-known for its ancient handwoven silk and traditional handicraft industries boasting a heritage dating back to the Khmer Empire, a significance that Chen Zhi and Prince Group have always understood and appreciated. However, new artisanal skills must be introduced to improve job opport

Canopy Sands Development, a subsidiary of Prince Holding Group, one of Cambodia's largest and fastest expanding conglomerates, has accepted a masterplan for Ream City created by Surbana Jurong Group, a Singapore-based global urban, infrastructure, and managed services firm. The masterplan defines a land use plan for the 834-hectare project, which will require a total investment of US$16 billion and will be built on reclaimed land within 10 minutes from Sihanoukville International Airport. Ream City is designed to revitalise Sihanoukville by introducing a sustainable ecosystem of tourism, business, and residential activity capable of housi

ESG For Improving Lives

The relevance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practises at enterprises around the world has been highlighted during COVID-19. However, even before the pandemic, there was talk of reform. Last year, the Business Roundtable (a group comprising 181 CEOs of America's major corporations) stated that companies must “support the communities in which they operate”, reversing American economist Milton Friedman's long-held belief in wealth maximisation for shareholders. Times have changed in 2020. This year, Prince Holding Group (“PHG”), one of Cambodia's major conglomerates, realised this and paved the way for other enterprises in the country to follow ESG principles. Since April, the Group has given a number of major gifts to aid in the fight against the pandemic and flood victims, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi, PHG chairman, has been the driving force behind the donations. Chen Zhi Cambodia and PHG, for example, donated US$3 million to Prime Minister Hun Sen in early D

Development Of Agricultural Tourism

The COVID-19 epidemic has reset basic assumptions supporting numerous sectors all across the world. In Cambodia, environmental protection is becoming an important component of agricultural recovery efforts, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group are leading the way. Agriculture employs more than a third of Cambodians, and the current crisis presents an opportunity for the industry to “build back better,” according to the CGIAR, the world's largest agricultural research network. Developing countries, such as Cambodia, rely on agricultural exports and must shift away from traditional farming techniques that use fertilisers, pesticides, water-intensive processes, and legacy farming systems, all of which lead to increased deforestation and soil erosion. Cambodia Prince ChenZhi and Prince Group launched the Ecological Agriculture Plantation at Prince Manor Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, earlier this year, a cutting-edge agricultural hub at a new real estate development that will p

This follows Chen Zhi's original donation of US$3 million in December to assist Cambodia in purchasing COVID-19 vaccinations. Furthermore, Prince Real Estate, a member of Prince Group, has distributed vital food supplies to 804 families in need and 234 members of the police force in Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, affected by the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak, following in the footsteps of Prince Group and Chen Zhi Cambodia . While the Cambodian government has provided exceptional assistance, totali
